Review of The Spyder VS3 Paintball Gun:

The new VS3 from Kingman Spyder Paintball is a break through to the mid range paintball guns in the market.  Spyder paintball guns have always been known to be the leading paintball markers in the industry for most beginners and intermediate paintball players.  Most beginners paintball players have used or owned a spyder paintball marker at one point in there paintball playing career.  Kingman Spyder is trying to keep there customer base from leaving to other products, and at the same time have taken several steps to increase their product line.  The introduction of the VS Paintball guns to their wide range customer base is a great move for both Spyder Paintball and paintball players alike.
The VS3 Spyder Paintball Gun is a great addition to the Kingman line.  It’s one of the first of the Spyder Paintball guns that are actually using a low pressure system.  In the past, all of spyder paintball guns used CO2, or High Pressure Compress Air, N2.  For those that don’t really know what the differences between High Pressure and Low Pressure, let me explain.  Most Spyder Paintball guns were propelled by either CO2, which was one of the most common propellant, or High Pressure Compressed air.  CO2 is usually very unstable under different weather conditions or under fast rate of firing.  The CO2 tends to freeze most O-rings and sometimes cause damage to your marker.  So most players use compress air, to avoid freezing, chopping balls, and causing damage to their markers.  Compress air systems does not fluctuate in different weather conditions or under high rate of fire. The difference between High pressure markers, tanks and Low pressure markers and tanks is simple.  Under High pressure, you still have some inconsistency while firing, (ie more spin to the ball) which may cause the ball to curve and not go in a straight line.  Also, High Pressure tanks usually give out about 700-850 psi per shot, using more air and more opportunity for the ball to go anywhere else but its target, and more chances of your ball breaking inside of your paintball gun.  While Low pressure air systems don’t have these kinds of problems, the gun works using less air and gives you, the player, a more efficient paintball gun.  Low pressure air systems usually runs around 200-350 psi and you don’t run into the problem of breaking balls in your marker or inconsistency in your shots.  Because of its low pressure system being more accurate, Spyder paintball took the leap into low pressure systems in their new line of paintball guns.
The Balance valve design, patent pending, makes its more efficient distribution of air between the blow back and the pressure needed to propel the ball out of the marker.  This is very important, because of the air needed to move the bolt back and air to push the ball out of the marker.  The break beam eye helps the marker to avoid breaking balls and giving you inconsistency in your shot.  Most of the time, balls are broken because they get caught in the breach of the marker or by high air pressure. This system assures that there is a ball in the chamber before the marker shoots, preventing ball breakage.
True to the Spyder Paintball mentality, they still offer the semi auto and 3 shot burst firing modes that are common on all of their electronic markers.  This feature is great for those players that are not as quick with their fingers, but in semi auto mode, the maker can achieve up to 25 balls per second.  The Min C/A regulator mounted in the bottom with the on/off dial help you mount and dismount your air systems without having a big blow back from your air tank.  The low rise adjustable feed neck brings your hopper closer to your paintball gun, so you don’t stick out like a soar thumb.
The 12 inch micro ported barrel gives you a clean look and accurate shooting.  The delrin bolt with lock cocking knob gives you a great finished product. Overall the VS2 paintball gun by Spyder Paintball is a nice upgrade from the beginner line of paintball guns.  This marker will be a great introduction to the mid line paintball gun range for those experienced paintball players.
The most significant upgrade to the VS3 compare to the VS2 is the Rocking Trigger Frame 2.0.  The Rocking Trigger gives the paintball player the ability to shoot up to 30 bps, (Balls Per Second).  The ability for the VS3 to shoot 30 bps is a huge step for Spyder Paintball, since it can compare to high in paintball markers without having to pay a huge price.
